UFC bantamweight queen scoops four awards as the MMA Oscars for 2015 go off with a bang in Las Vegas
Holly Holm was confirmed as MMA’s new first lady yesterday after she made history at the Eighth Annual Fighters Only World MMA Awards inside The Venetian Hotel Resort & Casino in Las Vegas.
The red carpet event, hosted by UFC bantamweight star Urijah Faber, honored the ver best of mixed metrical arts from 2015, including the leading fighters, fights and finishes.
The biggest winner on the night was UFC women’s champion Holm, who picked up a record four awards including ‘Female Fighter of the Year’ and ‘Knockout of the Year’ following her head kick KO of Ronda Rousey back in November 2015.
Also receiving high honors was UFC featherweight champion Conor McGregor, who bagged both the ‘Fighter of the Year’ and ‘International Fighter of the Year’ awards.
A special ‘Lifetime Achievement’ award was also presented to iconic UFC Octagon announcer Bruce Buffer for his 20 years of dedication to the sport of mixed martial arts.
